Combining aspects of Korean entertainment, fashion, beauty, and technology in one singular event, Korea’s Runway to Seoul was a showcase of the next generation’s creativity and innovation. Hosted by WWD Korea, SBA, and KBIZ, the event began in Seoul this year, but hopes to go global in following years, with plans to expand to global fashion hubs such as New York, Paris, and Milan. The event was held in partnership with brands such as YOOX, a Korean e-commerce platform that showcased their private label 8 by YOOX, Hera, Korea’s flagship beauty brand, hair and beauty company Juno Hair, and others such as Seven Broye, Dipe, GALLERIEX, Backslash, and Mirrorloid.
The show featured fashion shows walked by professional models, celebrities, and influencers, and featured seven different designers: 8 by YOOX, L.e.e.y, Ordinarypeople, NACHE, NICHE2NIGHT, KOWGI, and MINA CHUNG. As the event’s goal was to merge various aspects of K-culture and trends, performances by kpop groups were also a must. Kiss of Life, DJ250, and Kimximyada were among performers for the event, along with a dance performance by D’AUSPICE. Other activities at the event included a stylist lounge and photo zones.
Guests at the event included Holland (singer), Swings (rapper), Vapo (rapper), Ji Iljoo (actor), Doi Hyeon (actor), Lee Sangyun (actor), Kim Minkyu (actor), Nature (girl group), Cherry Bullet (girl group), LOUDI (singer), Nana Youngrong Kim (drag artist), Lee Seunghan (singer), Lee Hwanhee (singer), Lee Dongyeol (singer), and Sunyoul (singer).
